Gastonia- Zelda Bell Hastings, went home to be with the Lord December 23, 2010 at her residence
She was a native of Gaston County, born March 9, 1916
to Clarence Carl and Lanie Pasour Bell
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur G Hastings
a son, John Arthur Hastings; sisters, Janice Tino, Evelyn Gonsolin,
Sarah Deener, Lucy Wilson and a brother Frank V Bell
Mrs. Hastings was a 1934 graduate of Gastonia High School she was a former member of the Happy Feet Square Dance Group. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, crocheting and embroidery, the Beach and dancing. A member of Bethesda United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she was a past Sunday School teacher, worked with the Children's Class and was a MYF teacher. Mrs. Hastings was a member of the Caring & Sharing Senior Club. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She dearly loved her family.
Survivors include her son, Charles F. Hastings and wife Pam of Cramerton,
Daughter, Rose Ann H. Brooks and husband Lewis of Gastonia;
Daughter-in-law, Judy Pittman and husband John
Nine grandchildren, Eighteen great grandchildren and
Eight great great grandchildren
Sister, Jean Bell Ammons of Gastonia
Brothers, Donald Bell and wife Beverly of Jacksonville, NC
Haskell Bell of Clarksville, TN
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, December 27, 2010 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Huffstetler officiating
The family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service at the funeral home
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves
