Maiden – Yates Mullen Harbinson, Jr., 88 passed away peacefully on January 19th at Lutheran Home, Hickory with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Catawba County on February 16, 1929 to the late Zelda Crouse Harbinson and Yates M. Harbinson, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only child Sheila Bumgarner and a brother Bobby Harbinson.

Yates was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Optimist Club and a charter member of Glen Oaks. He retired as a management consultant. Yates was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed!

Left to cherish his memories includes his loving wife Bertha "Bert" McAllister Harbinson; his grandson Sean (Jennifer) Bumgarner; great grandchildren, Dalton Bumgarner and Helen Bumgarner; step daughters Gail (Tim) Hefner of Newton, Cindy Lester of Maiden; step grandchildren, Robert Hefner and Candall Hilton.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Martin's Luther Church with a Funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., at St. Martin's Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathan Yoder officiating. Private burial will be at Maiden City Cemetery
