Bessemer City – William Larry Morgan, 66 of Gastonia went home to be with the Lord June 8, 2014 after battling a long illness.
Larry was a native of Gaston County, born, October 23, 1947 to the late William Edgar and Willie Mae Earley Morgan.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Gaston County. He was a 1967 graduate of Bessemer City High School, and was an avid fisherman and loved NASCAR and scuba diving. He was a former EMT paramedic/transporter with Gaston Life Saving Rescue and A-1 Transport of Charlotte.
He is survived by his only brother Ray Donald Morgan and wife Jeanne;
his nieces Crystal Morgan Rouse and husband Kit of Gastonia, Shelly Norman and husband Ben of Jacksonville, FL, a nephew Austin Blair Morgan and wife Abbie of Colorado Springs, CO; Great nieces Whitney Taylor Rouse Snyder, Abby Kathryn Rouse, Taylor Norman, Great nephews, Max, Garrett and Graham Morgan
A Celebration of Life service will be held 5:30pm Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Rev. David Belle Isle officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 5:30pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church Community Outreach, Gastonia, NC 28054
