Dallas-Willa Mae Green, 89 of 2780 X-Ray Drive formerly of Dallas passed away June 15, 2012 at Peak Resources.

Willa Mae was born on January 23, 1923, to the late Silas Nelson & Sally Sutton Buchanan, in Jackson County, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Grover Green, Sisters Ida Mae Mauney, Edith Hall, brothers James Buchanan & Bill Buchanan.


After retiring from Sherman Textiles, Dallas NC, she and her husband moved back to Jackson County in 1983. She loved cooking and baking for friends and family. Quilting & crafts were two of the things she loved most. She loved being outdoors. Willa Mae was also a lifelong member of Old Savannah Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am,Monday, June 18 at Withers & Whisenant funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Leroy Mobley officiating. The family will be receiving guest 1 hour prior to the service.
A graveside service will be at3:00pm at Old Savannah Baptist Church Cemetery, Sutton Branch Road in Sylva, NC.

Survivors include: Sons Jerry D. Green and wife Debbie, Stephen M.Green and wife Janice, Milton Green and companion Susan Dow, daughter, Linda Green Dyer and husband Steve brother Silas Buchanan of Fresno, California. 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
