Gastonia – Miss Wadelene Allen, 84, entered into her Heavenly Home on September 2, 2016 at the Robin Johnson House.
She was born in Gaston County on July 18, 1932 to the late John Hugh Allen and Mildred Elmina Ham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother George Allen.
Miss Allen was a member at Unity Baptist Church. She retired from Uniroyal Chemical after 35 years of dedicated service. Miss Allen was loved by her family and will be greatly missed by everyone who loved her! She lived with her sister Margaret, Roger and Casey, who were her loving caregivers for the past 9 years; they cherished every moment with her and did anything she wanted…. the sky was the limit!
Left to cherish her memories include her sisters, Margaret Austin and husband Roger; Billie Sue Hammett and husband Jack; sister-in-law, Betty Allen; nieces and nephews, Julie Bradshaw (Reverend Dusty);Casey Austin; Mark Hammett (Debbie); Kyle Allen, Parrish Lee Allen; great nieces and nephews; Whitney Bradshaw, Allison Hildreth (Rob); Tara Allen, Amy Allen; Chris Hammett (Dee); David Hammett (DeNenne); Shandon Hammett (Lindsey); great-great niece, Payton; best friends, Doris Earney, Cynthia Blanton, Diane Feagan and Jane Posey.
Family will receive friends on Monday, September 5th from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church, 482 North Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28052.
A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Mathis and Reverend Dusty Bradshaw officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Johnson c/o Gaston Hospice, Post Office Box 3984, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
