Wade Alexander Simms
1939- 2018
Dallas – Wade Alexander Simms, 79, went to be reunited with his family and Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Gaston County on March 29, 1939 to the late Vilbert and Mary Belle Thomas Simms.
Wade was a member of Community Baptist Church for many years and had served as a Deacon. He was a 1957 graduate of Dallas High School. Wade retired from Textiles and later became co-owner of Betty's Day Care for over 16 years. He was a volunteer along with his wife at the Gaston Baptist Association. Wade was a former member of the Dallas Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. He also enjoyed building handicap ramps.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of almost 40 years, Betty Nichols Simms; his son, Warren (Tammy) Simms; step children, Christina (Steve) Bailey, David (Lisa) Lineberger, and Beverly Lineberger; brother, Reid (Deanna) Simms and a sister, Faye (James) Brooks; Six grandchildren and Eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21st at Community Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday with Reverend Greg Hager and Reverend Barron Lee officiating.
