Vincent A. Lyons

Gastonia- On August 25, 2010 God called his beloved son, Vincent A. Lyons home.
He is the son of Francis and Edith Lyons, born April 12, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York.
As a youth, he attended school in Brooklyn, New York. Vincent was swept off of his feet meeting his lovely wife, Shirley E. Patillo, and was joined in holy matrimony on June 28, 1958. From this union they were blessed with three children, Debora, Linda, and Cynthia Vincent was a good provider for his family. He loved his entire family and would do whatever he could to help anyone; he lived a peaceful and useful life. Vincent worked at Brooklyn College retired after 20 years of service.
Vincent was a faithful and devoted husband and father. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Shirley, four daughters Jeanette, Debora, Linda, Cynthia and two son-in-laws Darryl and Keith, Sr., and eight grandchildren Natarsha, Duane, Christopher, Chad, Kristin, Nickia, Keith, Jr. and Keishaw, two greatgrandchildren Jaida and Jordan, two brothers, Theodore and Anthony, two sisters, Miriam and Theresa and a host of relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday in the chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael Hager officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, A Quiet Place.
