Vickie W. Hargett

Charlotte-Vickie Suzanne Wright Hargett passed away peacefully on 9-28-2011 with her children by her side at Presbyterian hospital Hospice Center. She fought a long hard battle with cancer, but could fight no longer.
Born in Gaffney, SC on July 8th 1946 she was the daughter of the late Louise and Woodrow Wright of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her sister Amanda Freeman of Charlotte, brother Jeffrey Wright of Charlotte, and grandson Richard Miles of Stanley.
The family will receive friends 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service at the church
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday October 2, 2011 at First Wesleyan Church, 2300 Alleghany Street, Charlotte with Pastor Dave Pittman officiating
Interment will be 11:00 Monday at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte
Vickie is survived by three children, Alan Jerkins and wife Virginia, of Stanley, NC, Michael Jerkins and wife Dawn, of Gastonia, and Christy Hargett of Charlotte, NC, and 6 grandchildren.
Vickie worked as at Morris Jenkins Heating and Air for many years. She loved her job and worked until the very end. She always had a wonderful story to tell about her co-workers and thought of them as family.
Vickie was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Charlotte for many years. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in the church choir. Her greatest passion was for her animals, Molly, Kelly, Sassy and Spike. There was never a stray in Vickie's neighborhood! No matter what kind of animal it was, she would feed it and eventually take it in. In Lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Humane Society
