Gastonia, - Verlin Carlos Davis, 71, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Swain County, NC on May 6, 1944 to the late Ross and Ellie McKinnish Davis
He retired from Industrial Electro Plating. He enjoyed spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed working up at his sons land in Kings Mountain. Verlin loved his church, fishing, working in the garden and helping people. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all…
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Patricia Quinn Davis; son, Mark Benton and wife Lisa and their children, Barbra White, Sarah Moretz, and Jessica Benton with 3 great grandchildren;
daughter, Cindi and Husband Aaron Barker and their children, Alexis and Lillyan;
Cammie D. Greene and husband Mike; Carla D. Glenn and husband Dennis; Terri Lynn Crowley;
Angela Mote (deceased); 8 grandsons (1 deceased) and 4 granddaughters and many great grandchildren;
brothers and sisters, Ronnie Davis and wife Joyce; Larry Gene Davis and wife Selma; Darrell Davis and wife Angie; Ferrell Davis and wife Marie; Odell (deceased) Vernette Hampton and Earlene Bynum; Yvonne Robinson; Karen Davis; Donnie Winchester (deceased) and special friend and fishing buddy, Benny Gibby

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 27th at 5:00 pm at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Gaddis and Mr. Benny Gibby officiating. Family request casual dress
Visitation will be 4:00-5:00 pm prior to the service.
Interment will be private
