Gastonia – Vera Mauney High Carpenter, 91, entered into her Heavenly Home peacefully on September 19, 2016 at Peak Resources.

She was born in Gaston County on July 20, 1925 to the late Robert Franklin and Edna Grace Mauney High. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Dan Goodman Carpenter; her brothers and sister, Helen Cloninger, Lovell Sipe, Joe High, Alvin High, Yates High, Peggy Stewart and Kay High.

Vera was a long time member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and helped with the Goodwill Center.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Dianah Minges (Michael); a brother, Jim High (Mollie) and a sister Rita Rabb (Dean); and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service the Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Reverend Walt Grigg officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Four Seasons.
