Vada Skidmore

Dallas-Vada Florence Skidmore, 87 of Dallas went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital

She was a native of Grinnell, Iowa, born July 27, 1924
to the late Ira and Pearl Gallaway Gilmore.
Vada was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Skidmore, a grandson Richard Horney, her son-in-law Eulas Jones, one brothers and a stepsister

Survivors include her daughters Charyle Horney and husband Bill of Dallas; and Charlene Jones of Bessemer City;
Grandchildren Tina Horney Patel and husband Yancey of Bessemer City,
Grand Daughter-in-law Kathleen Horney of Bessemer City
Six Great Grandchildren; Ashton, Dalton and Lauren Horney, Austin, Emily and Abbi Patel
one brother, one sister and a step sister

The family will receive friends Monday 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church, 2128 Dallas Cherryville Hwy., Dallas, and at other times at the home of Bill and Charyle Horney
Celebration of life service will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church with Rev. Ralph Carver officiating.
Interment will follow at in the Church Cemetery.
