Tula Petty Shives

FLORIDA – Tula Petty Shives, 93, formerly of Gastonia passed away peacefully June 19, 2014 at her beloved daughter's in Venice, Florida.
She was native of Gaston County, born February 8, 1921 to the late Lonzo and Lillian Crews Petty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, loving husband of 53 years Jack Shives, brothers, Stowe "Mutt", Joe, Hubert, ML "Doc", Howard, Harry Petty; Sister, Julie Shives
She moved to Venice, Florida in 2012 at the age of 91 and lived life to its fullest with her daughter Darlene and husband Jerry. She loved living in Florida and enjoyed sitting on the beach watching the sun set in the evenings. She loved Jerry like a son and cherished her time with them. She will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her loving daughter, Darlene Shives Dover and husband, Jerry of Venice, FL;
Sisters, Grace Blanks of Dallas and Mildred Deckert of Gastonia
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am, on Monday, June 23 at Gaston Memorial Park,
Dogwood Section, with Rev. Mike Criswell officiating.
