Dallas-Trula Bowers Cloninger, 78 of 935 Miles Road passed away August 23, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Swain County, NC born September 22, 1934 to the late Daniel and Fannie Ledford Bowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53yrs, Floyd Yates "Bud" Cloninger who died in 2004, brothers Jay, D.T., and Bob Bowers; sisters Iva Sauls, Geraldine Barker and Vivian Earls.
Trula was a self employed restaurant owner for many years, she owner Trudy's Corner Café and Gerri's Country Kitchen. She was a loving wife mother and grandmother. Trula loved playing bingo and cooking for everyone.
Survivors include children Vickie C. Ferguson and husband Richard of Dallas, Charles D Cloninger and fiancé Jewel Still of Blakely, GA, Clifford F Cloninger and wife Robin of Dallas, David R Cloninger and daughter-in-law Paula J Cloninger of Dallas, Aron D Cloninger and wife Susan of Bayville, NY, Daniel L Cloninger and fiancé Laura Watson of Dallas; stepchildren and a special stepson W Roger Cloninger of Dallas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Elbert Bowers of CA., and Neal Bowers of MI
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Monday at Gaston Baptist Church, 516 South Gaston Street, Dallas
Celebration of life service will be 3:00pm Tuesday at Gaston Baptist Church, Dallas with Reverend Richard Gaddis and Reverend John Johnson officiating
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, with the Releasing of the Doves
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dale and Dean Ferguson, Chris, Jeremy, Matthew, Chad, and Adam Cloninger, Eric Arms and Alan Thomas,
