Belmont- Troy Cline Childers, 58 of 1006 Catawba St, passed away March 24, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born May 23, 1951 in Franklin, NC, to the late William S and Martha Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Earl Childers
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and the U.S. Army Reserve.
Survivors include his wife of 24 yrs., Darlene Childers;
his children: Jeffery and Jessica Childers of Virginia Beach,
John and Amanda Morris of Chesapeake, VA;
John and Cindy Reischel of Gastonia, NC,
BeAnn Simons of Iron Station, Ronnie and Mindy Lucas,
Travis and Kim Williamson, Jason and Tara Williamson all of Belmont; Tony and Dodie Layel of Myrtle Beach,
26 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild,
Sisters, Brenda Perkins and Barbara Haney;
Brother, Clyde Childers
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Revival Tabernacle II with Rev. John Mayberry and Rev. Robert Gittens officiating
Family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service
