Tony Michael McMahan

Tony Michael McMahan, born on November 30, 1943, in Gaston County, North Carolina, passed away on January 18, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his devoted daughter. He dedicated over 28 years of his life to the U.S. Air Force, where he retired honorably, exemplifying a commitment to service and duty that inspires those who knew him.

Tony was known not only for his military service but also for being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving family, including his son, David Michael McMahan (Amy); daughters, Toni Lynn Montjar and Rebecca Stanley (Steven); and grandchildren,  Kyle McMahan, Tyler McMahan, and Emma McMahan Zachary Ray Stanley, Ashley Elizabeth Montjar, Jennifer Renee Montjar, Richard Allen Montjar, Jr., . His memory will be cherished within the hearts of his brother, Bruce McMahan

Tony was a member of Legacy Church, where he found community and connection that enriched his life. His legacy of love and commitment will be honored on  Monday, January 27, 2025, with a Visitation at Legacy Church in Gastonia, NC, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM, Monday with Pastor Darin Gibbs. He will then be laid to rest in Gaston Memorial Park with military honors by the U.S. Air Force..

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Myrtle Leona (Sue) Taylor McMahan, who left this world on March 15, 2004, as well as his parents, Wesley McMahan, Jr. and Mildred Louise Price McMahan and 2 brothers,  Von McMahan and Louis McMahan. Tony’s profound impact on his family and friends will resonate for generations to come. He will be missed dearly but remembered fondly for his steadfast love and dedication to those he held dear.
