Tom Perry
1945 - 2021
Gastonia – Thomas "Tom" Dewitt Perry, 75, passed away on December 25, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born April 24, 1945, in Allegheny County, PA to the late Chester and Sylvia Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Perry, and his brother-in-law, Michael J. Piero.
Most knew him by Tom, who was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. His laughter, jokes, and friendship with Charlie Kale will be remembered and missed. He will be remembered for his love of the Lord and his love of the church. We will remember him for that and also for his continual smile, many "dad" jokes, and his love for his grandchildren…. If you asked him what he was up to, we could always count on him to answer with 5' 6".
Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Denise Risbon Perry, and his sisters, Elaine Piero and Patricia Vento, along with her husband, James Vento, and his sister-in-law, Anna M. Perry. Also survived by his son, Thomas D. Perry, II USAF, Ret and his wife, Holly A. Perry, and his grandchildren, Megan D. Lippe and her husband, Travis P. Lippe, Thomas D. Perry, III, and Sylvia A. Perry. Also survived by his daughter, Deneen M. Barnwell, and her husband, Donald H. Barnwell, and his grandchildren, Israel Benitez III and David A. Benitez; his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Risbon; he is also survived by his little buddy, Morgan. He is also greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and his vast church family.
A Memorial Service will be held at Church of Christ at Clover, 6278 SC-55, Clover, SC 29710, on Saturday, January 1st at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Church of Christ at Clover at the above address.
