Thomas Milton Coffey, 82, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2023 at his home.
Tommy was born March 8, 1941 in Lincoln County to the late Dennis Dixon Coffey and Louise Rudisill Coffey. He is preceded in death by four sisters-in-law, Christine Gilbert Loftin, Peggy Ray Coffey, Betty Knowles Gilbert and Martha Featherstone Gilbert and one brother-in-law, Ford Keith Gilbert
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years Jewell Gilbert Coffey of the home, two brother, Dennis Larry Coffey and Richard Andrew Coffey. Also survived by brothers-in-law Lewis Loftin, Wayne Gilbert, Brett Gilbert, Terley Wray Gilbert and James Brown and sister-in-law Nancy Gilbert, Sue Gilbert and Reyta Brown and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
After graduating from Lincolnton High School in 1959, Tommy served in the US Army. He went to work in the trucking industry and later went on to start his own company, Coffey Construction, where he retired as a described hardworking building contractor. He was also the owner of Windsor Heights Mobile Home Park, Gastonia.
Tommy was a faithful Christian, Patriot and friend.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., December 15th prior to the service
Funeral Services will follow at 2:00p.m., Friday, December 15th at Ranlo Baptist Church
