Gastonia – Thelma Reid Hill McManus, 93 passed away peacefully October 20, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gaston County, NC on December 23, 1920 to the late Cletus and Addie Viola Strickland Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Troy E. Hill and sister Evelyn Rose Tardiff.
Thelma had a love for fashion and decorating. She was a wonderful cook and great dancer. She loved to go fishing with her husband Mac. She loved life and lived it to the fullest until her health declined.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 22 years, Blair "Mac" McManus; Daughter, Sylvia Frick and husband Keith; Diane Thomason, step-daughters, Trudy Wilson and Gilda Hood; step-sons, Ricky McManus and wife Pat; Jeff McManus; Gary McManus and wife Sheila; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21st from 4 - 6:00 pm at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC. Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22nd at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Time Section 1
