He was born in Mecklenburg County on February 20, 1941 to the late Ruby Auten
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother Don Roberts
He was a avid fisherman, football fan, nascar fan and a veteran of the US Army.
Survived by his wife Pat McCarn; son Steve McCarn; brothers Larry McCarn, Robert McCarn and sister Janet Threatt.
Graveside services will be Thursday August 4, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Gaston Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Criswell officiating.
