Syliva Burchett Meadows

Gastonia - Sylvia Burchett Meadows, 87, of Gastonia, NC passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Sneedville, Tennessee, (Hancock County), on July 4, 1937 to the late Raymond and Minnie Alder Burchett. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert Marion “Bob” Meadows; a sister, Erma Smith and a brother, Larry Burchett. 

She was a loving wife, mother and Nana. Sylvia was a Nephrology Charge Nurse at Greenville Memorial Hospital for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her “lunch ladies” on Friday’s. She also enjoyed reading, trips to the mountains, family beach trips, and VOLS girls’ basketball. 

 Survivors include her beloved daughter, Caroline Moon and husband Scott; two grandchildren Abbey Osborne (Jonathan) and Alex Moon; nieces and nephew, Leia Davis and Scott Smith, Judy Gibbs (Tom), Paul, Tommy, and Kenneth and others; her sister-in-law, Dot Burchett.

 A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, October 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Bell United Methodist Church,17 Mayrand Road, Leicester, NC 28748

Interment will follow in the church cemetery with her beloved husband Bob.
