Steven Patrick Samuels, Sr.

Gastonia- Steven St Patrick Samuels, Sr., 67, went to be with Christ on November 27, 2024, at his residence. 

He was born in Kingston, Jamaica on January 19, 1957, to Olive Grant and the late Jehu Sharpe Samuels. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his dear sister, Pamela.

He was a steadfast follower of Christ and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church as part of the men’s choir as well as being a devout member. He was also a very active member of his community as he formed close bonds with several of his neighbors including the Epsteins and the Bissettes. Steven was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He would quite literally give you the shirt off of his back, always was there with a helping hand, a listening ear, and a corny joke, and never made you feel like a burden. Thankfully, he spent his days doing the things he enjoyed the most; spending time with his family, socializing, listening to music, being active and keeping the people he loved together.

 He is survived by his wife and best friend Colleen, as well as his ten children; Stacey-Ann, Steve II, Thaddeus, Erin, Sean, Dujon, Stefan, Adam, Rachel, and Gabrielle, his siblings; Barbara, Michael, Hopeton, Carolee, Frederick, and Lancelot; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews who, though almost impossible to mention each individually, will all miss him tremendously.

 Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 519 West 19th Avenue, Gastonia, NC with Dr. Benjamin Hinton officiating.

 The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00 am prior to the service.

 Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park
