Gastonia - Steve Madison Mullinax, 73, entered into Heaven on Thursday, November 01, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late James and Margie Blake Mullinax.

Steve was co-owner and founder of S & G Furniture Company for 47 years. He was always looking for a good deal to pass the savings along to the customer. His hobbies were riding and showing horses, he was well known on the American Quarter Horse & Paint Horse circuit.

"A Stranger Was Just A Friend He Hadn't Met Yet"

He loved his tractor and looked for any opportunity to ride it.

Left to cherish his life and memories are his spouse, Georgia Friday Mullinax of 44 years; two daughters, Cathy P. Crowder and husband Rick of Gastonia, Sarah F. Evans and husband William of Crouse; granddaughter, Landon C. Wood and husband Josh of Gastonia; grandson, Liam Evans; great grandson, Hayden Wood; nephews, Bruce Clayton and wife Sue of Jefferson, Georgia; Randy Clayton of Charlotte.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scottie Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum D with The Releasing of the Doves,
