Dallas – Steve Hoyt Coleman, 69 passed away on December 9, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 21, 1947 to the late James Hoyt and Eulla Mae Mason Coleman. Steve was a member of Community Baptist Church, Dallas. He worked for Wireless Communications and gave many years of dedicated service before retiring. Steve served on the Board and was a volunteer fireman at the Spencer Mountain Road Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a ham radio operator and had his pilot's license. Steve worked part time in the sporting goods department of Walmart; where he loved talking to everyone he came in contact with! Steve loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him!

Left to cherish his memories includes his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Stines Coleman; his family; Michael Jeffery Coleman, Cody Earl Coleman (fiancée Hannah), Katelin Johnson (Robert) and Trey Coleman; 2 great grandchildren, Lily and Emma; brother, James Paul Coleman (Barbara); sister-in-law, Shirley McGee (Jimmy) and brother-in-laws, David Stines (Patricia) Danny Stines (Darla); numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home prior to the 2:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Hager officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cody Coleman, Josh Wyatt, Richard Kirk, Darrian Houser, Buddy Branch and Scott Coleman. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the releasing of the doves. Memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church, 823 Dallas Stanley Highway, Dallas, NC 28034.
