Stephen Merlin Green
Gastonia – Stephen M. Green, 59, passed away on December 5, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Gaston County on December 10, 1954 to the late Claude and Willa Mae Buchanan Green.
Steve loved to hunt, fish, and gardening. He loved being outdoors. Steve served in the U.S. Air Force and worked many years at the FMC Lithium Plant. He held a special place in his heart for his special hunting buddy Zachary. He taught Zach all he knew about hunting and being in the woods and was so proud of the man he had grown into, especially for joining the Air Force to serve our Country. Steve was loved by many and will be greatly missed. We will always remember that charming smile that he always greeted everyone with !
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years Janice Cloninger Green, brothers, Jerry Green and wife Debbie of Bessemer City; Milton Green and wife Susan of York, SC; and sister, Linda Dyer and husband Steve of Winterville, NC.
Many nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces that he loved dearly.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, December 8, 2014 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 103 W. Church Street, Dallas, NC with Pastor David Drysdale officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service
Interment will be at Holy Communion Lutheran Church Cemetery with Military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Beaty, Chris Edison, Michael Green, Milton Green, Jr., Doug Huffman, Jason Kelly, Bill Trudnak
Honorary Pallbearers, Zachary Fogle Beaty, Tony Colvin, Ronnie Hoffman, Anthony Heavner, Eric Heavner and Bob Floor.
