Belmont – Stanley Wilfred "Stan" Lahr, 84 passed away on July 11, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 6, 1932 to the late Robert and Elizabeth Connolly Lahr.
Stan graduated from the Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania. He retired as an engineer with Piedmont Natural Gas with over 37 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter, Belmont. Stan was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach. Stan did a lot of wonderful wood carving and often gave many pieces to his friends.
Most of all he was a family man, Stan loved his family!!
Left to cherish his memories includes his loving wife of 21 years, Sue Bess Lahr, his children, Elizabeth Chadwick (Jeff), Connolly Lahr (Kim) and a stepdaughter Jamie Lamkin; grandchildren, Sarah Dulin, Lindsay Hicks, Ashlyn Lahr and Sofie Kent Lamkin; two great grandchildren, Lane and Sadie Dulin; his twin brother, David Lahr.
A Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter, 216 North Main Street, Belmont with a reception to follow service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to at Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter, 216 North Main Street, Belmont, NC 28012
