Belmont – Shirley Hudson Baker, 77 passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Belmont on February 16, 1940 to the late Fred and Lucy Glover Hudson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammie Lynn Baker and her brother, Tommy Hudson.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed! Shirley was a member of South Point Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her church family. She loved gardening, baking and her church. She was a very caring person, she enjoyed taking care of her grandson Nathan until he started school; you would often find the two of them playing in the sandbox. Shirley also enjoyed her cats, Midnight and Toby.
Left to cherish her memories includes her loving husband of 61 years, Ray Baker; her children John (Dana) Baker and Sharon (Terry) Greene; grandchildren, Nathan Baker and Jacob Baker; sisters, Evelyn Beheler and Betty (Ken) McJunkins;
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15th prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 p.m., at South Point Baptist Church, 124 Horsley Avenue, Belmont with Reverend Dr. James C. Hilton officiating.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery with the Releasing of the doves
