Gastonia – Selma Solomon Brown, 93, passed away February 28, 2017 at Carillon Assisted Living.
She was born in Davidson County, NC to the late Paul and Lina Lindsay Solomon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Ned Brown, sister, Pat Campbell and her brother, Harold Solomon.
Selma was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, having fun, playing bridge and watching people. She was a RN most of her life and enjoyed volunteering at various organizations throughout her lifetime.
Left to cherish her memories includes her sons Larry Brown (Susie) and Charles Brown (Kristen); Grandchildren, Thomas Brown (Allison), Shannon Rollins, Katie, Lindsay, Christopher and Hannah Brown; Great Grandchildren, Daniel and Casey Rollins, Kingston Nguyen and Lincoln Brown.
Private Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
Inurnment will be at the Beaufort National Naval Cemetery with her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gastonia Potters House, Post Office Box 332, Lowell, NC 28098.
