Scarlett Brea Heilig, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on December 2, 2023 in New York.. She was born on April 11, 1991, and her untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Scarlett will always be remembered for her kind soul and bright light that she brought into the lives of those around her.
Brea had a passion for her family and children. She cherished every moment spent with her adoring brother, Harley. Her deep love for her family extended to buying shoes for her father and creating beautiful memories together. Additionally, Scarlett derived great joy from spending time with her fiancee, Jonathan Davis, who provided unwavering support and love throughout their journey together.
Education was also a significant part of Brea's life. She excelled academically and graduated from UNCC - Charlotte with a Bachelor of Psychology and a Minor in Early Child Development. Brea's commitment to learning and understanding the human mind was truly admirable.
One of Brea's favorite pastimes was reading. It brought her tremendous pleasure until she tragically lost her eyesight. Despite this obstacle, she remained resilient and found solace in other ways to create meaning and joy in her life.
Surrounded by loving family members, Brea departed peacefully on that fateful day. Her memory will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. To honor her life and celebrate the person she was, multiple events have been planned.
The visitation will take place on December 9, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation located at 2916 Union Road in Gastonia, North Carolina. It will be an opportunity for friends, relatives, and loved ones to pay their respects to Brea's remarkable life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on December 10, 2023, at Meadowlake Church in Huntersville, North Carolina. Beginning at 1:30 PM, this event will serve as a beautiful tribute to Brea's vibrant and compassionate spirit. The address for Meadowlake Church is 6501 Gilead Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078.
Following the Celebration of Life service, Scarlett will be laid to rest at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius, North Carolina. This Interment ceremony will take place and provide an opportunity for family and close friends to say their final goodbyes. Bethel Presbyterian Church is located at 19920 Bethel Church Rd, Cornelius, NC 28031.
Brea leaves behind a devastated circle of loved ones who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her parents Keith and Pamela Moore Heilig; her brother Harley Heilig; her sisters Morgan Heilig and Kirstie Heilig and her boys, Asante and Jeremiah Burris; her grandparents Theodore and Kathleen Heilig along with Victoria Moore; her aunt Donna and Richard Williams; seven cherished cousins; and many more family members and friends who were touched by her presence. her She is preceded in death by her fiancee Jonathan Davis and her grandfather W.C. Moore
In this time of mourning, let us remember Brea for the joy she brought into our lives. Her vivacious spirit illuminated even the darkest moments, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts. As we bid farewell to a soul gone too soon, let us hold onto the precious memories and cultivate the love that Brea shared with all of us.
May she rest in eternal peace as we find solace in knowing that she has found comfort in the arms of heaven. Scarlett Brea Heilig will forever be remembered as a shining light whose impact on this world will never fade away.
