Gastonia-Sarah Knight Wilson, 93 passed into a new life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 4, 2018 at her residence.
She was greatly loved by her family and her presence in our lives will be greatly missed. She was born in Union County (Monroe) on October 29, 1924 to the late Arnold Jackson and Annie Jane Hooks Knight. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
She was a member of South Gastonia Church of God for over 60 years, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Sarah was a very hard working lady who began working at a very young age picking cotton. She started working in textiles in 1940, then went to work at Homelite in 1967 and worked until her retirement in 1987. Sarah enjoyed spending time going to church. She enjoyed going camping with her family. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish her memories includes her husband of 27 years, Ray Wilson, daughters, Linda Hall and Kathie and husband Alan Marlowe; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; her sister Shirley Gilreath
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 7th at South Gastonia Church of God, 310 Carolina Avenue, Gastonia, NC with Reverend Bobby Gilley and Reverend Sam Barnett officiating
Entombment will be at Westview Gardens.
