Dallas-Sarah Mae "Sue" Beam Steele, 79 passed away suddenly on May 16, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gaston County, on July 7, 1934 to the late Roy and Bryte Carpenter Beam.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 45 years, Homer Eugene "Gene" Steele, and her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Richard Robinson.
Sue was a loving wife mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter Audrey, and making personalized greeting cards. She loved to sew, often making special outfits for her girls. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends whom she loved. Sue was one that didn't like attention on her… Sue was a member of First United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
Survivors include her beloved son Mark Steele and her loving granddaughters, Lindsey Crosby and husband Calip, and Lauren Steele; her great grandchildren, the love of her life Audrey, Sydney and Cailynn; special niece Penny Parker and special nephew Ricky and wife Beth Robinson as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Caroll Flack and Reverend Joe Lawing officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7pm prior to her service
Interment will be private at Westview Gardens Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church, 301 W.Main Street, Dallas, NC 28034 or Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054
