Gastonia – Sarah Curd Griffin, 70, passed away on March 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Robin Johnson House.
She was born in Birmingham, Ala., on March 7, 1945 to the late James D. and Katherine Taylor Curd
Sarah was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading. Sarah loved spending time with her family especially her grand babies.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Jackie Hounshell.
Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, F. William "Bill" Griffin; her sons, David and wife Julianne Griffin of Stanley; Joseph and wife Kristy Griffin of Gastonia; Grandchildren, Shanna, Gabriella, Jacob and Kylee; Sister Peggy Kelley special niece, Wanda Resch and many other nieces and nephews
Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm, Monday, March 23rd at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Hensley and Reverend Richard Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00pm prior to the service at the church.
Interment will follow at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Nelson Resch, Alan Franks, Hunter Franks, Benny Capps, Bob Hice and Butch Bynum
