Gastonia- Sadie Splawn Hill, 86, passed away on May 12, 2016 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center
Sadie was born in Gaston County on July 21, 1929 to the late Vernon Splawn and Geneva Smith Splawn Browning.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Hill, Jr. and her son, Charles Vernon Hill who died on April 30, 2016.
Sadie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved and cherished her family.
Survivors include her son, Charles S. Hill, III and wife Edith of Bessemer City; daughter, Judy Hill Dockery and daughter-in-law, Rachel Ghorley Hill all of Gastonia; 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and half-sister, Dot Splawn of Inman, SC
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15th in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Glandon officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the releasing of the doves.
