Dallas – Ruth Cudd Avery, 88, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gaston County on January 20, 1930 to the late Albert Rice Cudd and Tessie Barnette Cudd.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Sonny Avery; her siblings, Junior, Ernest, Luther and Louis Cudd, Lulie Spawln, Carolyn Taylor, Virl Eppley.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed! Ruth retired from textiles. She enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memories includes her children, Randy and wife Connie Avery; Pam Adams, grandsons, Hal Avery and Chris Adams; great grandson, Matthew Avery; sister, Evelyn Ledford; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home prior to A Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday in the Chapel. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Alexandria Place and their wonderful staff.
