Rosa Lie Haywood, 93, departed this life on August 11, 2015 at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY
Rosa was born August 28, 1921 in Catawba County, NC, the seventh child out of fourteen to the late Clarence David and Eliza Mae Coulter Wilson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rommie Lemuel Haywood and her son, Ryan Leslie Haywood.
Rosa was a Social Worker and Para Professional with the Board of Education in the City of New York.
Survivors include her sons, Renard Lance Haywood and Rommie Lemuel Haywood Jr.; daughter, Rita Lynn Haywood; brothers, Howard Wilson and Lewis (Agnes) Wilson both of Cleveland, Ohio; sister Gladys McCorkle of Newton, North Carolina.
Funeral service will be at Maiden Chapel Baptist Church on Friday August 21, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Reverend Vincent Cross will officiate and Apostle Shannon Wingate will bring the eulogy.
Visitation will be one hour before the service with burial being held in the Maiden Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
