Rosa B. Cope

Gastonia-Rosa Barnes Cope, 72 of Gastonia passed away peacefully May 16, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy
She was born in Polk County, born February 4, 1940 to the late Thomas Franklin and Cora Lee Welch Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jackie Edwin Cope who died March 8, 2003, Brothers, Clarence, Buford and Tom Barnes, Jr.
Rosa retired from AB Carter with over 33 years of service. She was a member of South Marietta Street Baptist

Survivors include her children, Timothy W. Cope, Sr and wife Ginger of Gastonia; Anita C. Helton and husband George of Bessemer City;
Jackie C Clark and husband Chris of Gastonia;
Grandchildren, Jennifer and Brent Siracusa, Timothy W Cope, Jr., Noah Brittain, Ian Newton, Austin Brittain and Madison Cope;
Great Grandchildren Olivia and Caleb Siracusa ;
Brothers, Richard Barnes and wife Flora of Gastonia, Ralph Barnes and wife Lila of Lexington, NC and Kelly Barnes of Grand Prairie, TX; and a Sister Ruby B Bame and husband Jim of Gastonia
Several Nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Saturday, May 19 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Celebration of Life service will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 20 at South Marietta Street Baptist Church with Rev. Fred High and Rev. Roger Overton
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery A Quiet Place with the Releasing of the Doves
Pallbearers will be Timmy Cope, Noah Brittain, Austin Brittain, Ian Newton, Kevin Jones and Chip Howell
