Ronnie Richard Phillips

Ronnie Richard Phillips, 83, passed away on March 12, 2025 at Peak Resources in Gastonia, North Carolina.

He was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on June 4, 1941 to the late Denzel and Stella Phillips. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paulette Poole Phillips; and his siblings, Larry Phillips, Mack Phillips, Bob Phillips, and Joyce Phillips.

Ronnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed all sports, baseball, football, racing, and was a big TarHeel fan. Ronnie also enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with his family. He leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Helton (Mike Barnes), Kevin Helton, and Jennifer Phillips; siblings, Rickie Huggins, Jerry Reeves, and Jack Phillips.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel and burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery Gastonia.
