Gastonia – Ronnie Dean Funderburk, 59 passed away on Sunday, August 28th at his residence.
He was born in Gaston County on February 18, 1957 to Harold Dean and Bonnie Kelly Funderburk.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Dennis, and a great grandson Leo Thor Ledford.
Ronnie loved western movies and making people laugh. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Taylor Funderburk; his daughters, Beth Ledford, Vicky Altman (David), Becky Owens (Eric); wonderful grandchildren, Gary Ledford, III, Dylan Ledford (Cristin), Jessie Lanier (Harley), Tiffany Lanier and husband Edwin; brothers, Randy (Brenda)
Jerry (Ann), sisters Cynthia Patterson and Stella Holland.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 1st at West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, 2145 W. 5th Ave., Gastonia, NC
A Celebration of life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2nd at West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church with Pastors Richard Cole and Randy Funderburk officiating.
Interment will be at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
