Ronald Eugene Reid 58, departed this life on November 11, 2011 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas.
He was born February 24, 1953 in Gastonia, North Carolina to.
Son of Mr. Charlie Reid and Mrs. Hattie S. Reid, Ronald was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School. He was a member of the United States Marines from August 1974 ' 1976. He received numerous recognitions as Marine of the month. In 1979 he received an Associate Degree in Applied Science, from North Carolina Vocational Textile School in Belmont. In 1981 Ronald received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Cleveland Technical College in Shelby, NC. He took pride in working for Parkdale Mills in management. Ronald was well known and admired as a kind, warm and jovial spirit.
He is preceded in death by sisters Vanessa Ann Blake and Daisy Mae Wallace.
He is survived by son Ronald E. Reid, Jr., of Gastonia, NC. Father Charlie Reid and Mother Hattie S. Reid of Gastonia, NC., brother Alonzo W. Sholtzes and wife Stephanie, adopted brother Christopher Thompson and wife Joyce of Rock Hill, SC., sisters Priscilla R. Johnson and Bertha Reid of Gastonia, NC, aunts Annie Mae Smith and Margaret Myers, Two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Best friend Miss Thomasina Friday.
