Gastonia – Roger Dale Pope, 67, passed away on December 13, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center Gastonia.
He was born in Catawba County on December 30, 1952 to the late Earl Lee and Anna Bolick Pope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Pope and brother, Bobby Lee Pope.
He was a Service Tech for Dominion Energy formerly Public Service for many dedicated years. Roger was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy Thompson Pope;
son, Chris Pope; special daughter, Carol Foley; grandchildren, Kyndall Bennett, Gracie Bennett, Kaycee Pope and John Pope; brother, Ricky Pope (Dee); sisters, Kay Thornburg, Sherry Watts, Rita Spargo and Connie Lunsford; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17th at Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor James Holeman officiating.
Visitation will be immediately following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Presbyterian Church, 5615 Union Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28056
