Bessemer City, Rocky Dail Rollins was born August 10, 1952, passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2014.
He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents and his mother, Opal Rollins, sister-in-law, Sheila Rollins, father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Katherine Garver.
Surviving in Rocky's life is his wife of 44 years, Robin Garver Rollins, a son, Rodney Rollins and girlfriend Stephanie Estes, and a daughter, Brandy Rollins Holland and husband Joe Holland, his father, Eural Rollins, sister, Brenda Dowdle, brother, Larry Rollins and wife, Janet, brother-in-law, Danny Garver and wife Sheila, and sister-in-law, Margaret Garver.
Rocky also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren that were a great joy in his life, Destani Taylor Rollins, Jack Michael Holland and Lilly Katherine Holland. They were the light of his life and the twinkle in his eye. Rocky could hardly wait until the weekend to spend time with them.
Rocky comes from a very loving, close-knit family. Rocky and Robin's life was totally consumed by surrounding themselves with their children, grandchildren, his father, brother, sister, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Rocky was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone and he will be greatly missed by his friends, coworkers at Carter-York Agency and acquaintances that have crossed his path in life.
Rocky and Robin have built their life together since they were 17 years old. They were truly soul mates and they were the happiest when they were together. Robin looks forward to the day they will be together again. Rocky was truly the love of Robin's life.
Funeral services are being conducted by Rev. David Stewart of Garver Memorial Baptist Church. Services are being held at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a viewing and visitation from 1-3 pm and Celebration of Life immediately following in the Chapel on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 3 pm.
