Gastonia – Robert Champion "City Boy" Smith, 83 passed away December 3, 2014 at Hunter Woods Assisted Living.
He was born in Gaston County, NC on August 12, 1931 to the late Clifton Champion and Marie Huntsinger Smith.
Robert retired from the City of Gastonia in street maintenance
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Dolly Jane Coe and Mary Sue Bolynn and husband Lellon.
Survivors include his brother, John Smith (Linda) of Gastonia and sister, Billie Wynn (Morris) of Charlotte
Graveside Service will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 5th at Gaston Memorial Park,
Veterans 3B section
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45pm at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home,
