Clayton Quinn

Gastonia – Robert Clayton Quinn, 78, passed away on October 2, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

He was born on May 26, 1944 in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late George Robert Quinn and Pearl Martha Barber Quinn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Edward Quinn and a daughter, Robin Quinn Teahl; his siblings, Lois Weathers, Jean Clippard, Emma Lee Lineberger.

Clayton was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church; and had been attending virtual services at Salem Baptist Church. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed piddling in his work shop, spending time with his family and his cat, Snowball.  He leaves many happy memories to be cherished by his family. He retired from maintenance at the Post Office.

Clayton is survived by his daughter, Christie Young; grandchildren, Brianna Teahl, Sydney Young and Lily Teahl; mother of his children and friend, Peggy Quinn; sisters, Patricia Davis and Martha Dillard and husband Don; brother-in-law, Kerry Clippard; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Junior Morris officiating. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Inurnment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Gethsemane-B section
