Florida – Robert Eugene Owens, Jr., 63, of Saint Johns, FL, formerly of Dallas, North Carolina passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021. Rob was born on September 3, 1957, in Gaston County, NC to Anne Crews and the late Robert Eugene Owens, Sr. in Gastonia, North Carolina. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, and beloved dog, Tess.
He was a graduate of North Gaston High School and California Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, and more recently from Ultrasound Diagnostics School with a Specialized Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technology. He was a Management Consultant with Servicemaster for 20 years, followed by a 21-year career as a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist. Rob was an avid golfer and fitness enthusiast. He enjoyed playing the guitar, hiking, reading, professional sports, and spending time at the beach.
Rob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mona Owens of Jacksonville, FL; son, Brandon Owens of Raleigh, NC; mother, Anne Crews of Gastonia, NC; sisters, Denise Swink of Bessemer City, NC and Angela Holder of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Grayson, Claire, Gavin, and Davis Owens of Raleigh, NC; many nieces, nephews, and
a broad group of loving friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 17, 2021, in Jacksonville, Florida.
