DALLAS – Robert "Tater" McKinley Gibson, 62, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2015
He was born in Gaston County, NC on September 10, 1952 to the late James "Jim" and Carrie Guy Gibson
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Roy Gibson, sisters, Nellie Shealy and Mary Frances Gibson; daughter, Wendy Cummins
"Tater" was such a loving and giving person. Most will remember him as being the one that
loved riding motorcycles with Wind Jammers in Shelby and Carolina Cycles Association and was a member of several clubs where he spent time giving back, this was something he cared a lot about and was important to him. He was a US Marine Veteran.
Survivors include his sons, Curtis Gibson, RJ Gibson and Robbie Mullinax and wife Heather, brothers, J.D., James "Bud", Paul, Howard, Dan and Terry Gibson; sisters, Ellie Rhyne and Mary Ruth Gibson; granddaughter Brittany Walker
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday July 28th from 6:30-8:30 pm at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home
Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday July 29th at 4:00 pm at Withers and WhisenantFuneral Home with Reverend Randy Stiles officiating.
Military Honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Interment will be private
