Gastonia – Robert Alfred Black, Sr., passed away on January 12, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Gaston County on July 4, 1926 to the late Charles Thomas Black and Alice Regina Crawford Black.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from textiles.
Left to cherish his memories includes his children, Bobby (Judy) Black, Jr., Allen Black, Jeannie Pilgrim, Jane (Jerry) Pilgrim; many grandchildren and great grandchildren;
brother Clarence Black and sister Betty Pharr.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17th at Hollywood Cemetery.
