R. L. "Buck" Russell, 83, entered into his Heavenly Home on Saturday, April 01, 2017 at this home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gastonia and was the son of the late Rodie Mae Schronce Russell.
"Buck" retired from Smyre Mills/Carolina Mills after many years of service. He was a very active member of Lowell Church of God.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and love to Gaston Hospice for their love and support during "Buck's" illness.
"Buck" is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Brooks Russell; one daughter, Cynthia Russell of the home; one granddaughter, Tasha Ann Koehler and husband Otto of Gastonia; three great grandchildren, Noah Koehler, Summer Koehler, Sydney Koehler.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Lowell Church of God, 804 W. First Street, Lowell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lowell Church of God with Rev. Joe Heffner and Rev. Roger Wentz officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in the Evergreen Section with the releasing of the doves.
