He was born on October 14, 1996 in Lincoln County. RJ graduated from Cherryville High School in 2014 where he excelled as a member of the High School Football Team.
Left to cherish his memories includes his father Richard Abernathy, II and his mother Robin Harris; his son, Benjamin Cole Delio of Louisiana; 3 brothers, Christopher Tinsley of Mt. Holly; Darius Harris of Bessemer City and Armhad Allen of Mt. Holly; maternal grandparents, Renee Brooks (Gary) of Cherryville
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 23rd at Walls Memorial Baptist Church, 2223 Elizabeth Avenue, Shelby, North Carolina with the Funeral at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Gregory Floyd officiating.
Interment will follow at Moore's Chapel AME Zion Cemetery, Lincolnton, NC
