Gastonia- Ritchie Eugene Jenkins, 66, passed away March 30, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Mecklenburg County on July 8, 1949 to the late Billy B. and Mable Hunsucker Jenkins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dean Jenkins and sister, Carolinda Dixon.
Ritchie was a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed! He loved his family and spending time with them. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Glen Oaks Golf Club in Maiden. Ritchie was an employee of Pharr Yarns at Complex 46 as a Maintenance Engineer for over 49 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Vicki Watkins Jenkins; sons, Duane Jenkins and wife Michelle; Chris Jenkins and wife Shannon all of Gastonia; grandchildren, Nicholas Jenkins, Landon Jenkins, Tori Jenkins, Madey Jenkins and Jessie Katschke
brothers, Billy Jenkins, Jr. and wife Nancy of Charlotte; Scott Jenkins of Belmont
Family will receive friends Saturday, April 2nd from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon prior to the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12:00 noon at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Gastonia with Father Shawn Griffith officiating.
A reception for friends and family will be in the Parish Hall immediately following the Celebration of Life Service.
Interment will be private.
