Gastonia – Ricky Lee Poole, 54, passed away suddenly on April 24, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Gaston County on July 31, 1966 to Joseph Lee Poole and Susan Clayton Poole.
Ricky is preceded in death by his brother Jody Poole.
Ricky worked at Speedwell for almost 10 years as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cutting trees. Ricky also enjoyed helping people with anything they needed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 15 years, Sherri McDonald Poole; his parents, Lee and Susan C Poole; his son, Jeremy Lee Poole, stepchildren, Dylan Gray and Allison (Caleb) Smithers; grandchildren, Brody, Carly and Logan; sisters, Frankie (Michael) Arant, Lisa Miller, Martha Wooten and Susan (Ronnie) Felton; his in laws, Harvey and Laura McDonald and fur babies, Milo and Sheba; and a sister in law,Terry McDonald.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m., Thursday prior to the service.
Interment will be at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 5323 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054
