Richard F. Avila, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born in Raton, New Mexico.
Mr. Avila retired from the United States Army and Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. Avila is survived by his wife, Billie Starrett Avila; daughters, Cathy Palaita and husband Mike, Angela Dial and husband Stephen, Stephanie Garison and husband Gary all of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 12 Noon at Trinity Baptist Church, Fayetteville.
Interment was in Lafayette Memorial Park with Full Military Honors by the United States Army.
